Thank you all for calling and sending cards and making me feel so special on my first birthday away from home. I was a little nervous going into my birthday week that nobody here would remember or give me any recognition on my day, so I prepared to be completely and utterly ignored. I didn't want to be disappointed and convinced myself that birthdays are whatever and its just one more day in my wonderful life, I am getting too old for recognition anyways...
But to my surprise, I had SUCH an amazing day!! Obviously I would have loved to spend the day with the people that made my life possible, my wonderful family, but my expectations were thrown out of the water with how my friends made me feel while here.
Now, I know that if it wasn't for social media or it being the first week of spring quarter, probably one person would have known it was my birthday and maybe given me a nice high-five, but since I prefer to be an optimistic person and believe everybody loves me lets just say this week was all about me and for me....to make me sound cooler ;)
Day One of My Birthday week:
Like every monday evening, me and the rest of the sisters of Alpha Phi gather in our beautiful home for our weekly meeting where we all share a meal and discuss issues or celebrate accomplishments we have made the previous week and what we all have to look forward to in upcoming weeks. My wonderful sister's announced that my birthday was the following night, so of course the seniors opened up their home and said " lets celebrate Kelsie's birthday starting at midnight with a bang at or house!!" or they already planned on having everyone over to start off a new quarter..but id like to believe the previous rather than the ladder... SO directly following meeting about 100 girls all put their party dresses on and headed over to 6569 Del Playa to have the ultimate girls night. By the time I got there there was good ol' 90s music (which is to all of us old school)... a little N'Sync, Spice Girls, Avril Lavigne, etc blasting and everybody laughing and having a great time. Within a half hour you had to be literally screaming to have a conversation with anyone because the crowd was getting so rambunctious(as large groups of girls tend to do when they get excited). We were all singing and dancing and loving the fact that we could have so much fun with 100% girls, and no boys allowed. As the night progressed we all mobbed over to two other fraternity houses and at midnight i had about 300 people all singing "happy birthday dear uh uh huh" (only about 50 people at the time probably even knew who they were singing to, but it was still special). I soon thereafter rode my little beach cruiser on home, because I did have a class early the next morning to attend, smiling thinking about what I had in store for the next day....
Day Two THE DAY:
I woke up and went to my one and only class of the day(I know soo nice) all the while receiving about a million calls, texts, voice messages, and Facebook notifications wishing me a beautiful and happy birthday. Anthony called me up and said to put on my bathing suit and coverup and meet him for breakfast and a beach trip! I quickly changed and headed over and had a wonderful sausage, egg, toast, bacon, the whole nine yards birthday breakfast and walked over to our gorgeous backyard here in Santa Barbara. It was literally the most beautiful weather, hot with a light cool ocean breeze. We laid on the sand for a few hours and then had lunch and got my favorite Cool Lime Refresher at Starbucks. Anthony got me a tanning pass, because I haven't stopped complaining abut how nasty white I am, so my tanorexic self hurried over to the tanning salon soon after lunch (not smart I got quite sun kissed with fake and baking plus real baking). I got home, showered, and relaxed for a while intently trying to feel the difference of 18 years old as opposed to 19 (unsuccessfully). Before I knew it, Anthony called saying he was on his way to pick me up for dinner! I threw on makeup, dress, and heels and headed over to my favorite sushi restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara. Anthony had made reservations here because this was where we went on our first date and even made sure the table we sat at was open, so sweet of him. We had a wonderful time with PHENOMENAL food. Once he dropped me off at home I had 15 minutes to get to our TG for the night (or as I'd like to call it my birthday party). The second I got to the house about 30 girls ran to me hugging me and wishing me a happy birthday. We all walked over to Sig Ep and again 30 or so guys came up right away to make sure to wish me a happy birthday. I am so blessed to have so many friends that actually care about me and genuinely want me to feel special and have a memorable day.

Day 3, 4 and 5:
We had a kareoke night with the girls in my house, I went to a concert by two pretty well-known DJs in our university center that was sponsored by ANthony;s fraternity, and our senior house had a huge party on friday. I wish I had more pictures, but all of these nights were sooo fun and I made sure to milk the fact that it was my birthday week at every event ;)

Day six:
Deltopia. SUCH a fun and crazy day if you love lots of people and loud music. There is literally every person that attends UCSB on one half mile street stopping outside of every other house where DJs are set up playing music. Everybody is dancing and smiling and soaking up the sun.
Overall its been an amazing week!! I love you all so much and can't wait to report the upcoming amazing weeks in paradise :)
Love you all
xoxo
